One of Vans’ most active collaborators, Taka Hayashi’s work on an upcoming Authentic low for the Triple Crown of Surfing is previewed here. The sneaker features a fully black upper with tonal prints. A small bit of color makes its way into the design via the top eyelet and Vans flag. Furthermore, the foxing band also includes another understated print referencing the large scale surfing event. No information regarding availability is currently known.

CRASH HELLO KITTY x AMBUSH “POW” Pendant

AMBUSH™ and popular Japanese icon Hello Kitty see themselves at the center of an unlikely team-up. In recent memory, we’ve seen some interesting character-based collaborations headed by Bape who’ve included the likes of SpongeBob and most recently the Ghostbusters. Hello Kitty is seen peering over the top of AMBUSH™’s trademark “POW” pendant. Three different versions are available including gold, neon pink and neon green. “The Walrus Rider” by Alex Pardee

We present to you the first toy designed by Alex Pardee, in celebration of Upper Playground’s 10th anniversary. The Walrus Rider is a cool little fellow as he sits atop his walrus friend, wielding his tusk-knife-weapon. The above promo photo was taken by Brian McCarty and is a nice dreamscape of what the rider loves to do most, think of blondes (don’t we all)! Exsistence of Light Feature with Que Houxo

Nike Sportswear 2009 Holiday Preview

An early look into what’s up on deck for 2009 holiday as we take a look at some highlights which include iconic colorways making their way onto new models. The use of red and turquoise is something that has often been associated with Dutch artist Parra but little is known regarding an Air Max seen here and whether this is an official collabo, inspiration or just a coincidence. Other shoes with definite references to past drops include the HUF/DQM Air Max 90 seen now on a boot-like Air Max 90 Flywire style. Other notables are an Air Trainer 1 Chlorophyll colorway complete with forefoot strap. This whole collection is slated for a 2009 holiday release.
