SBGT - Spring 2009

Due to its always high demand, sneaker customizer Mark Ong, best known as SBTG, set to launch a new endeavor this Spring. The newly minted Made To Order Collection will drawn influences from one-of-the-kind SBTG created in the past, predominately from 2 popular themes: SBTG x PHU – Death From Above Project and SBTG x Lazy – Paramount Collection. Each will also consist of 2 DIY methods: classic custom paint or custom fabrication.

First is a derivative of the SBTG x Lazy – Paramount Collection. Named “White Noise”, a classic dunk in premium selvage denim, Gucci bi-color scheme, Swoosh in reptile print, and shemagh pattern.

Second evolved from SBTG x Phu – Death From Above Project and personal favorite of Mike Shinoda (seen above), lead singer of Linkin Park and a fellow sneaker designer. The Sawtooth Collection features hand-painted shark jaws, metallic attributes, and wild animal palettes. In addition there will be one-of-one design, like the Shark Attack Air Max 90. Comes in 4 colorway combos: Instinct/Bloodspot, Sable/Royal, Mono/Venom and Teal/Venom. SBTG is taking orders now on the Royalefam online store. Each will take 2 weeks to create and deliver.

Jams by Converse

What better place to launch the Jams by Converse intiative than here in Hawaii-where JAMS takes so much of its inspiration from. Converse has really outdone themselves with this collaborative efffort with JAMS. There are less than 200 pairs worldwide, and you can only get them here at KICKS/HI and at Opening Ceremony. There will be other Original JAMS by Converse releases this year, but this make up was done in very limited quantities. The beauty of these shoes is that no two pairs are alike-not even the left and right pairs because all were cut from a roll of fabric which basically equates to complete intuition.
